Back to Utah- McKay Reunion

We braved it and drove all the way back to Utah to go to the Mckay Family Reunion. I have fond memories growing up riding horses and playing in the barn at the Rock House. The Rock House has been in our family for generations and it is next to David O. Mckay's home. The reunion is in Hunstsville UT, a small town that is pretty much inhabited by family members. Chad(mom's cousin) and Wendy own the rock house now. They had 8 boys and 2 girls. They are a fun family and our kids made friends with their kids easily. The kids slept anywhere from balconies to lofts and us adults all had a nice room and beds to sleep in. Thanks to the Mckays and kids for letting us take over. When we got there, they were swimming and i had to show the kids the huge tree swing. Friday night is the bonfire with food and a short program. We played volleyball and the kids did the zipline. Falling asleep with the windows open was nice and I could hear Dawson and Brigham talking about their schools. On Saturday we got up for breakfast and fun at Quinn and Shirley's. We also did a scavenger hunt that lead around Huntsville to the Cemetary, Summer house, and the pasture. Each destination we learned more about our family history. This was great although we were in a hurry. We didn't win : ( After that we all went to get ready to go to Barry's property for lunch and the water slide. The kids had a lot of fun at the water slide even though the water is pretty cold when it comes out of those big irragation pipes. We had to start home about 4 and the kids did not want to leave. They were all begging to come back next year. I am glad that we decided to drive all the way back to Utah for that day and half experience. We only have a few pics from swimming but I don't have pics from when I was little and I will never forget it.

Colorado

We do not have any pictures from Colorado. We got family pictures taken... they turned out so cute. The kids had fun hanging out and playing frisbee golf at the park. We also went swimming and played at the clubhouse.

Utah- Timpanogas Hike

Dustin woke up early and took all the kids that wanted to go on the hike at Timpanogas mountain. There is a cave to go through with a tour guide and everything. I, being pregnant, opted to stay home.

Utah- Picnic

We had a picnic at a cool camping ground at Mount Timpanogas (I think). The kids had fun exploring the woods and eating and talking.

Utah- Bowling

The family also went bowling together while we were in Utah. It was great fun... Grandpa and Grandma rented out a bowling ally and we had a movie going while we bowled. We had pizza and drinks and the kids played more video games. The kids never want to leave each other. Stella was doting on Teegan the whole time we were there. I love the way she says his name.

more pics of boondocks

Utah- Boondocks

I have to break the Utah part of our trip up because there are a lot of pictures. The first full day we were there we went to a place called boondocks with cousins, which is similar to Fiddlesticks here. The kids did go-carts, bumper boats, lazer tag, video games and goofy golf. It was lots of fun. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma.

More pics of Lake Powell

First part of vacation -Lake Powell

Our road-trip vacation started out with renting a house boat for 3 days on Lake Powell. It was rather interesting packing what a family of 10 needed for 3 days out on the water, getting it all onto the boat and all off. Quite an adventure... I think I will vote for San Diego next time. We docked the boat and also got a ski boat so the kids could ride tubes. Me and Maddy did funny tricks on the tube that we have on our video camera. The kids also played in the sand (which is super fine and soft). They made a castle with rivers and also a droopy tower. On the last day, we went cliff jumping. We are the little black dots in the picture. You had to walk up a 1 foot wide ledge that went up and dropped out below you. I swore it was going to break off when I was on it. The kids had fun and Dustin and I were ready to get off of the boat!

Fourth of July

We went to the Diamondbacks game the weekend of 4th of July. They always do fireworks on Fridays. We had fun. Dad and Mom came and joined us from their seats and dad sat in the next section over (he was just across the isle from us) All be danged... his section won some Purex all in one washer and dryer sheets. My mom is very allergic so he pawned them off on us. It was fun and loud... Teegan's first fireworks!

Old stuff... Backyard party and Dad playing Kaplinko

I watched Tara's kids for her anniversary and Teegan and I crashed a family birthday party at James' and Joleen's house. That same day, Tara decided we should go to the dbacks game because my dad was chosen to play a game like plinko to win a prize. Here are some pictures of both (Tara, I need to email you the pictures of your kids at the party)

We know the sex of our baby!

For anyone who doens't know, we are having a baby due March 16th. I haven't blogged in a while but have lots to catch up on. We went for the ultrasound today. Mason, Hayden, Teegan, Dustin, Tara and Mom were there (and of course me). Here are some pictures! This is our last baby no matter what. I wanted a girl... lower right picture shows.......
ITS A BOY! Teegan is going to have a playmate!
